The Story Behind The First Bucket Campaign

In the Gospel of John, a woman comes to a well in the heat of the day; alone, ashamed, carrying a life she cannot seem to put down. Jesus meets her there. Not with judgement. With Living Water. With truth. With a new beginning she did not dare to hope for.

She goes back to her village and tells everyone she meets: Come and See.

That is the story that names us. And that is the story we are asking you to be a part of.

The First Bucket Campaign is the launching point of Women of the Well Recovery Center. Before the campus is built - before the doors officially open, we begin. We are drawing the First Bucket. We are changing the first lives. And we need people who believe that every woman deserves the chance to come to the well and leave transformed.

You don't have to build the whole well.

just help us draw the first bucket

What Your Gift Is Building

The $3.2 million Frist Bucket Campaign funds every part of what Women of the Well will become:

Land and site preparation

$550,000

An investment to acquire the right property in rural North Georgia. Land that gives our residents space, privacy, and the natural environment that is central to our therapeutic model.

Construction of the main residence

$2,200,000

A 5,000 to 6,000 square foot purpose-designed main building housing up to 20 residents at full capacity - including private counseling rooms, a life-skills kitchen, a computer lab, a resident library, and warm communal space that feels like home,. Not a facility.

The Chapel

$200,000

A 2,800 square foot, 100 seat-chapel that will serve as the spiritual center of the campus and as a community gathering space for North Georgia women. Open for worship, Bible study, and events that connect our program to the region around us.

The Rescue Kennel

$150,000

A 2,500 square foot onsite kennel for animal-assisted therapy. One of the most effective and underutilized tools in addiction recovery. The animals that will live here are not a luxury. They are part of the treatment plan.

The Art Barn

$125,000

A 1,500 square foot creative therapy space where residents process trauma, rebuild self-esteem, and discover that their hands can make something beautiful. Expressive arts therapy is clinically proven. We have built a dedicated space for it.

The Garden and Greenhouse

$50,000

A therapeutic garden and canning facility where residents grow food, learn preservation skills, and experience the quiet, grounding miracle of tending something and watching it flourish.

Pilot Program and Start Up Costs

$250,000

Training staff, launching our Living Water groups, and serving our first cohort of up to 10 women before the permanent campus opens. The pilot builds our outcomes data, refines our model, and demonstrates to funders what Women of the Well can do.

Scholarship Fund

$234,000

A portion of every major gift goes directly to our scholarship program. Ensuring that no woman is turned away from Women of the Well because she cannot afford it. This is not optional. It is who we are.
